Fagans French Polishing & Furniture Restoration
Fagans French Polishing and Furniture Restoration has been a family run business for over 60 years and maintains a long running tradition based on inherited skill and experience stretching back to 1949.
The late Billy Fagan trained as a french polisher under the guidance of Navan’s famous furniture manufacturer John Hogg. He later set up the antique furniture and restoration workshop and over the years was entrusted with the task of repairing and restoring greatly loved and highly prized antique furniture from modest homes as well as from some of the most notable period houses. All clients had one thing in common: they wanted their much cherished pieces of furniture restored and renewed at realistic prices.
Billy Fagan passed on his interest and his skills to his son, Liam, who over the past 20 years has been specialising in french polishing and furniture conservation, thereby developing the rich blend of traditional services customers expect and appreciate today.

Liam Fagan has kept true to the family tradition and is widely regarded as an antique furniture and period property restorer, catering for the discerning antique collector as well as for those with family heirlooms, some beloved above and beyond their value. The owners all know that restoration can bring back faded luster. Liam Fagan takes great pride in restoring the original splendour of period furniture.
Fagans French Polishing and Furniture Restoration recently broadened its business with the help of Jean Fagan. Who between them now collect and restore antique furniture, which is sold at considerable reduced prices when compared to showrooms.
Liam and Jean are also happy to source antiques and, if necessary, restore high quality period furniture for private clients and antique dealers.
Jean Fagan has worked within the interiors industry for the last 18 years and has a sharp eye when it comes to choosing antique furniture. Like her husband, she also comes from a furniture background-her dad being a bespoke cabinet maker who instilled in her a passion for well made pieces of furniture.
